Musicians and Cantors

Calling All Musicians!!

Proficient instrumentalists, vocal soloists, choir singers, we need you in order to enhance our liturgical celebrations! Come share your talents with the St. Justin worshipping community! Whether you can commit to play or sing only on special occasions, monthly or weekly, we’d love to have you!

More backup cantors would be a plus. Flute, violin, trumpet, cello, oboe parts are often written for much of our music for liturgy, but other instruments will work. Guitar and percussion would be a wonderful addition to piano accompaniment at most masses. Electric guitarist and drummer would add so much to our Youth and Young Adult Masses. New choir members are most welcome. Our goal is to double the size of our current choir.

Purpose of Music Ministry

Skills
Depending on role. music skills are necessary. More skill is needed if you sing with a smaller group. Keyboardists and instrumentalists must be able to read music and play proficiently.

Required Training
Attendance in periodic in-services.

Guide assembly to pray through song at weekend liturgies and special seasons. Singers, instrumentalists, and keyboard players are needed. Different types of music groups are available. Small ensembles and full choir are available.

Time Involvement
Music rehearsals are usually once a week.
