There are countless people involved in preparing for a liturgical celebration. Many of them are in the forefront: the priest, the musicians, the lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, ushers and the altar servers. We see them in action. And, there are others who we seldom see.
One such group of individuals is the Mary and Martha Committee. The members of this committee prepare the linen used at Mass. After each of us receive from the cup, the minister wipes the cup and turns it for the next communicant. Have you ever wondered what happens to the purificators after they are used ?
Each week one member of this committee picks up the purificators and the towels that have been used to wipe and clean the cups. They clean and iron them and return them for the next week. They meet on a bi-monthly basis to calendar.
